Toronto police warned the public about a group of teens who have been robbing food couriers near Scarborough for the past month.

They had received reports of this on Jan. 10, near Morningside and Avenue and Sewells Road and have been on-going ever since.

The group would wait for the food service worker at the location of the delivery, then proceed to steal the food, before fleeing the scene.

In some cases, the group would even threaten the food delivery person or bring out a weapon.

There were many cases reported before as well, back in January of 2019.

The police had arrested three teens on Jan. 24, 2019, that stole food from a 59-year-old man at Caledonia and Rogers roads, which was the food delivery home.

The men were wearing black masks and one male had the food delivery man at gunpoint and robbed him of the food, money and his vehicle, as reported by the police.

The second case followed the following Saturday night, with a 36-year-old man threatened once again and the teens took his keys, money and debit machine. They took his car as well.

The police had tracked the vehicle down, but could not retrieve the original firearm. Later, a replicated firearm had been located.

One 15-year-old male and two 16-year-old males had appeared in court Sunday morning and had been arrested, facing charges of robbery and illegally carrying a weapon.

Police suspect that the teens stealing recently are part of the group that had been arrested.

While food had been stolen multiple times, police reported that no money had been stolen this time around.
